GLITZ AND GLAMOUR AS DIAMOND VILLE SCHOOL, SOLOMADE IKORODU CELEBRATES 2021 END-OF-SESSION / GRADUATION CEREMONY

It was glitz and glamour as Diamond Ville School, Solomade Ikorodu celebrates its 2021 end-of-session and graduation ceremony, to formally mark the end of the 2020/2021 academic session.

The colourful event which was graced by parents, guardians and well wishers also featured presentation of awards and academic prizes to deserving pupils of the school.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Director of Diamond Ville School, Mrs Mohunmubo Olanrewaju thanked parents and guardians for their unflinching support for the vision of the school since inception, particularly during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

‘That the school is still standing and towering high is only by the sustenance of the Almighty God, our loving parents and committed teachers. I thank you all for all that you do to support this vision’, she said.

She also reeled out some of the scorecards of the school in the outgoing session.

She said ‘75% of pupils’ Nelson handwriting skill improved; 95% examination pass rate, especially in Mathematics, based on subject teaching; 20% increase in public speaking for skills, for graders. Pupils in grade classes participated in class competition in Spelling B, Recitations and Literary / Debating competitions’.

On extra-curricular activities, she noted that, ‘all work and no play makes learning uninteresting. We took time to celebrate Fathers’, Mothers’, Boy/ Girl, Valentine, Workers and Teachers’ Days’.

Earlier, in her address, Head of School, Mrs Nneka Isangedighi described the graduation ceremony as, ‘a culmination of years of hard work; the actualization of goals attained and the acknowledgement of success achieved’.

‘So it is only fitting that today, we commemorate the road that we have all traveled together these last few years’, she stressed.

‘The result, ladies and gentlemen of our coming together, keeping together and working together, despite the obstacles that we may have faced along the way…that result is the Graduating Class of 2021’, she submitted.

The event also featured various special songs and poem recitations; drama and Ewi renditions among many other presentations to the admiration of parents and guests in attendance.

Special Guest of Honour at the colourful event was a U.S based Nigerian, Pastor Bolaji Olayemi and his wife, Mrs Modupe Olayemi. Others are Founder & CEO of Ikorodu Oga Radio, Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi among many other distinguished guests.
