In the spirit of the new year and as in line with his annual custom, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi has presented gifts and cash to the first baby of the year 2022 born at the General Hospital, Ikorodu on 1st January, 2022.
The Monarch was accompanied on the visit by retinue of Baales and other dignitaries. Also, the Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) led by its Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo and other executives joined the Ayangburen on the visit.
MD/CEO of Ikorodu General Hospital, Dr Taiwo Kamorudeen Hassan led the Ikorodu Monarch and other dignitaries on the visit to the wards in the Maternal and Child Care section of the hospital.
At the ward, Oba Shotobi expressed his joy on the safe delivery of the mothers. He congratulated them and presented the first Baby of 2022, Baby Bamidele Ayodele who was born at exactly, 12:01 with gifts and cash. Similarly, Baby Boy Bakare (boy) born by 9:18am was also presented with gifts and cash by the dignitaries.
Many other groups like the IKODASS, Rotary Club, Miss Ikorodu also showered the various gifts and cash to the mothers and their new borns.
Hon Babajimi Benson, member Federal House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal Constituency also doled cash gifts of N50,000 to the first baby of the year and N25,000 to the second baby of the year. He also extended cash gifts of N10,000 each to all new mother’s in all the wards of the general hospital,.to the excitement of the new mothers.
