
The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has further demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development with the formal commissioning and handover of a Primary Health Centre and classroom blocks in four public schools across Ikorodu Division.
Among the projects commissioned on Thursday was the rehabilitated Elepe Primary Health Centre, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The facility is expected to significantly improve access to quality primary healthcare services for residents of Elepe and neighbouring communities, while strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
In the education sector, blocks of classrooms were commissioned and handed over to the local government authorities at Methodist Primary School, Gberigbe; Primary School, Akaun; Model Primary School, Shagamu Road; and the Arts and Craft Centre, Igbogbo.
Senator Abiru, who was represented at the ceremonies by his Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, stressed the need to continue to expand access to healthcare and education at the grassroots, assuring that he will continue to provide quality equitable representation to the people of Lagos East Senatorial district.
The lawmaker also commended the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in providing funding and other necessary assistance for the facilitated projects.
He urged the residents of Lagos East to rally round the President in his quest to reposition the country on the path of sustainable growth and development.
Chairmen of respective local council authorities, Hon. Taiwo Odumbo, Education Secretary, LGEA, Ikorodu, residents and other stakeholders commended Senator Abiru for his sustained investment in critical social infrastructure, describing the projects as impactful interventions that would leave lasting benefits for present and future generations.
The commissioned projects are part of Senator Abiru’s broader development agenda across Lagos East Senatorial District. Since his election to the Senate, the lawmaker has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of schools, healthcare facilities, roads, community infrastructure, and other strategic projects spread across the district.
These interventions have complemented various empowerment programmes, educational support initiatives, healthcare outreaches, and economic development schemes designed to improve the welfare of constituents.
