Exactly a year and few months to the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, some interested stakeholders have started advocating for key political positions in the coming elections.
The latest agitation is coming from the Paramount ruler of Ikorodu Division and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi.
Oba Shotobi, who is also the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas has declared that it is the turn of Ikorodu Division to produce the Governor of Lagos State come 2023.
Oba Shotobi made the declaration while speaking to journalists on the excellent leadership of Ikorodu General Hospital MD/CEO, Dr Taiwo Hassan at the presentation of gifts to the ‘Baby of the Year’ at the Ikorodu General Hospital.
The monarch stated that, ‘This is the reason why I said that, until we have an Ikorodu indigene as Governor of Lagos State, we may not get it right. Whether the person is from Itunmaja, Ipakodo or Imota, it doesn’t really matter. What is important to me is that the person must be an Ikorodu Division indigene’.
The monarch also commended the dynamic leadership being provided for the Ikorodu General Hospital by Dr Taiwo Hassan since he assumed the leadership of the hospital less than two years ago.
Oba Shotobi commended the general environmental facelift, human capacity development, welfare packages and infrastructural projects being embarked upon by the Ipakodo Prince in the hospital.
