LENT, RAMADAN FASTING: REP BENSON SUPPORTS CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM FAITHFULS WITH FOODS, GROCERIES

In the spirit of the Christian annual lent season, Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defense has lent a hand of support to Christian faithfuls currently observing the on-going 40-days lent fasting period.

The federal lawmaker also extended food support to Muslim faithfuls across Ikorodu Division, ahead of the annual Ramadan fast commencing this week.

The food distribution exercise was in line with Benson’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

Inside sources within the I-Care Foundation, the lawmaker’s body responsible for coordinating the monthly food distribution exercise hinted that yesterday’s exercise was also aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship in the country.

Though, Rep Benson was not physically present during yesterday’s exercise, his heartfelt love for his people was visible to all beneficiaries.

Over 500 beneficiaries, comprising of the aged, widows, people living with disabilities and unemployed youths drawn from different communities and council areas across Ikorodu Division who benefitted from the food support were seen wearing smiling looks.

Some of the beneficiaries have expressed appreciations to the Ikorodu-born federal lawmaker for putting smiles on their faces, in the face of the current economic hardship in the country.
