Like the popular saying, one good turn deserves another, Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman House of Reps Committee on Defense has disclosed that he facilitated the construction of Oreta-Ofin 13 Kilometer and 3.7 Kilometer Lucky Fibre-Odongunyan road projects which he flagged off in Igbogbo-Baiyeku and Ikorodu North LCDAs today was a reward for his constituents for voting massively for the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last general elections.
Benson disclosed this during the flag-off of the 13 Kilometer Offin-Oreta and Lucky Fibre – Odongunyan road projects in Igbogbo-Baiyeku and Ikorodu North LCDA respectively today.
Benson, who is the Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps stated this in response to praises and commendations he received from residents and stakeholders of the two major council areas. He stressed that, they should not have expected anything less from him, having done their parts by supporting his elections, he was also duty bound to reciprocate their good features.
Speaking further, the federal lawmaker equally appreciated the good people of Ikorodu Division for giving the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the highest number of votes from any local government in Lagos State.
Ikorodu Division APC Apex Leader, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye in his remarks thanked Benson for being a caring and responsive representative. The GAC member thanked the lawmaker for putting smiles on the faces of residents, through his people-oriented programmes and infrastructural projects.
Similarly, a former Secretary to Lagos State Government and GAC Member, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun commended Benson for facilitating the reconstruction of the 38 years old dilapidated road, while charging residents of the axis to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the ruling party in future elections.
In his royal speech at the flag-off ceremony, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Abdul-Semiu Orimadegun Kasali charged other political office holders, particularly those jostling for the Local Government Chairmanship in the forthcoming local government elections to take a cue from Benson’s style or quality representation.
The duo of Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and a former Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, who also doubles as the Olu-Omo of Igbogbo Land also joined other APC Chieftains in showering encomium on Benson for being a caring representative.
Speaking on behalf of the joint CDA, Alh Yisa Gbadamosi Chairman Zone 5 Oreta-Ofin CDC expressed gratitude to their House of Reps Member for bringing relief to residents of the axis.
The contractor handling the project, Mr Jimoh in his brief remarks appealed to residents and community stakeholders to cooperate with his men, while promising to patronize them during the road construction.
