All is set for the historic celebration of the first coronation anniversary of the Alagura of Agura, Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike Ogunderu.
To commemorate the historic event, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has inaugurated an Ad-Hoc Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee, chaired by a former Lagos State Head of Service and erstwhile Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa.
The inauguration of the Committee is coming exactly two weeks to the first coronation anniversary of the first-class monarch, who ascended the throne of his fore-fathers in 2022.
Addressing the Committee Members, Adeshina noted that, ‘The King has approached the Local Government on the One year anniversary of his reign. And because the King has involved us, we have to stand by him’.
‘The Local Government has decided to set up a 13-Man Committee that will be in charge of the planning and arrangement of the 1year anniversary of the Alagura of Agura. As one the First class kings in Lagos State, we have to give him all our full support in this celebration’, he said.
The Chairman later reeled out the composition of the First Year Coronation Anniversary Committee to be chaired by Alh Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa;
Other members of the committee includes, a Former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Junaid Owokoodu, The Council Manager, Engineer Martins Odupitan and Secretary to the Local Government, Alh Lateef Afinih, who will serve as the Secretary of the Committee.
Other Committee Members inaugurated were, Ikorodu Division APC Leader, Alhaja Rashidat Bello, Iyaloja of Central, Alh Osho, Leader of the House, Hon. Adebowale Adebola, Hon. Safari Murishiku and Hon. Lateef Oyefusi.
Members of the Committee nominated by the Alagura of Agura himself were, the Iyalode of Agura, Chief Mrs. Animashaun Idowu, Chief Badru Fatai, Chief Prince Lasisi Adeniyi
and Prince Ademu Amusa Chief Tajudeen Fasasi.
The Committee Members were given a 2-Week Mandate by the Chairman, to deliver a befitting and memorable 1st Year Coronation Anniversary for the monarch.
Speaking further, Adeshina noted that, ‘Oba Alagura of Agura is also very important to us because he is one of the first class Obas in Lagos State.
And, one year anniversary of any King is also very unique and important. So, the Ikorodu people should know that Ikorodu has a King’.
‘My message to the good people of Agura Kingdom is that they have to stand by the King. They should support the King and also support our party, the APC. This year, we have different plans for Agura Community and very soon, we are going to surface some of the roads in Agura and install solar street lights for them to enjoy their day’, he concluded.
Adeshina therefore charged them to hit the ground running.
Responding on behalf of the Planning Committee, Alh Rotinwa thanked Hon Adeshina for the opportunity given to him and his Committee to serve, while assuring him that they will deliver on their mandate.
