The 2024 New Year Family Meeting of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family of Ikorodu recorded unprecedented attendance by three Royal Fathers from the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family of Ikorodu and Sagamu last Saturday.
The January 2024 monthly family meeting, which is the first in the year 2024 is held every first Saturday of the month at the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Palace, Itunmori Ikorodu.
The New Year meeting was also graced by many prominent members of both the Anoko and Ogbonyari Royal family stocks with their various family branches were well represented.
The Royal Fathers who graced the historic meeting were, HRM, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Taiwo Bamgbose, The Olumushin of Imushin Remo, HRM, Oba Elias Omoloro Ijelu, The Olota of Ota-Ikosi and HRM, Oba Oluwarotimi Oyedele, Atawa of Latawa, Sagamu.
The Royal Fathers are bonafide sons of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family of Ikorodu and Sagamu from different family branches.
While Oba Bamgbose is from the Adeite Branch, Oba Ijelu is from Odu-Ona and Oba Oluwarotimi is from Aronija Branches respectively.
Another Royal Father who is also a bonafide son of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family is HRM, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo who could not join other Royal Fathers at the meeting but sent his apology. Oba Kasali is from the Oshoneku Branch of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Ruling House.
Other prominent family members in attendance were the Olotu-General of Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Family in Ikorodu, Omo’ba Bolajokotade Ogunbiyi Aronija who chaired the meeting.
Others were, High Chief Omotayo Adeniyi Ajayi Eletu of Oke-Eletu, Otunba Niyi Banjoko, Otunba Fuwase of Anoko-Ogbonyari, the Olotu-Ebi Anoko Family in Ikorodu, Omoba Sikiru Obey Jaiyesimi and Baale of Parafa, Omo’ba Adewale Jaiyesimi.
Addressing the family members in attendance, Omo’ba Bolajokotade Ogunbiyi stressed the need for peace and unity among members of the Royal family. He noted the strategic position and importance of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family being the largest Ruling House in the entire Ijebu-Remo.
He also appealed to attendees to work in collaboration with the leadership of the family for the progress of the ruling house.
The meeting also dwelled on many other sensitive family matters and plans for the new year.
