2024 INTER-FAITH PRAYERS: ADESHINA SET TO BREAK GROUNDS FOR COUNCIL CHAPEL BUILDING, PROMISES MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS IN 2024

The Ikorodu Local Government Christian community will soon have its own purpose-built Chapel for all its religious activities.

This is coming on the heels of the announcement made by the Council Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina during his speech at the prayer session held at the Council Multi-purpose hall yesterday.

Adeshina noted that, like King Solomon in the Bible, he has decided to build a befitting house of worship for God.

Speaking further, he noted that, while the Muslim community has a mosque in the Council, their Christian counterparts do not have a dedicated place of worship that is purpose-built for them.

Adeshina also announced that, the chapel would be built within the next 6 months. He further promised that the site for the church would be officially cleared and made ready for the official ground-breaking event by next week.

The Council boss also hinted on some major infrastructural projects his administration would be embarking upon in the new year, which includes, the construction of a 10-Room Legislative Building for the Councilors with a conference hall, and a glass-house legislative chamber.

He added that many inner roads across the Council area would also receive the council’s attention, as many of them would be surfaced while others in bad shape would be completely rehabilitated.

In their brief exhortations at the prayer meeting, Pastor Femi Gilbert and Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Adegbolahan both of whom spoke from the Quoran and Bible respectively admonished participants to walk in the fear of God in the new year.

Ikorodu Local Government NULGE Chairman, Comrade Adebambo O. Kazeem in his brief remarks commended Adesina’s dynamic and visionary leadership,.which is evident in the peaceful collaboration between the Council staffs and the political leadership.

Adebambo also applauded the Council boss for giving the entire local Government Secretariat building a complete face-lift.

He concluded by imploring members of staff to continue to work diligently in the new year.

This year’s inter-faith prayers was witnessed by the Vice Chairman, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Secretary to the Local Government Alhaji Lateef Afinni, Leader of the House, Hon. Adebowale Adebola, Former Lagos State Head of Service, Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, and Alhaja Rashidat Bello, Ikorodu Division APC Women Leader among other APC Chieftains across Ikorodu Local Government.
