The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abass has commended Rep Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defense for his commitment and dedication to the well-being of his constituents.
Speaker Abass stated this yesterday in Imota, during the formal Commissioning of an 80-Bed Mother and Child Hospital facilitated by Benson.
The healthcare facility was a product of effective collaboration between Rep Benson and Office of the Special Adviser on Sustainable Developmental Goals to the President of Nigeria, led by a former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefilure for the benefit of the good people of Imota LCDA.
The Speaker, House of Representatives also took time to explain to the audience that the health sector got one of the highest figures in the 2024 Budget signed by President Bola Tinubu yesterday.
He noted that the House of Reps under his watch will continue to seek to ameliorate cases of welfare and shortage of medical personnel in the county in line with policies of World Health Organization (WHO). Abass further urged Nigerians to rest assured of basic and affordable health care service as they continue to work for the people through their elected HoR members.
Concluding, the Speaker applauded Rep. Benson’s quality representation and giant strides for the good people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, while assuring him of his continued support.
Rep. Benson appreciated Mr Speaker, for his benevolence and concerns for the state of infrastructures in Ikorodu Federal Constituency which according to him will improved in due time.
The federal lawmaker also reiterated his commitment to improved health care service as the newly commissioned health care facility will be a game-changer to serve residents of Imota LCDA in an effective and efficient manner, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda of basic and affordable health care service to the populace.
Amidst the eulogies and commendation by Royal fathers in attendance, Hon. Adejoke Orelope Adefulure, Special Adviser to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, in her speech, stated that the 80-bed Maternal and Child Facility houses an Ultrasound Room, Children and Mother Intensive Care Unit, Emergency theatre, Fully Functional Laboratories and other Standard treatment rooms for easy access and prompt attention by medical staff to Patients, in line with her fulfillment of health requirements for the good people of Ikorodu division, as she also charged pregnant women to take advantage of the opportunity availed by the large Health Facility.
The historic event was witnessed by Royal Fathers, Political stakeholders, Representative of Commissioner of Health, Members of the State House of Assembly for Ikorodu Constituency 1 and 2 and Religious and community stakeholders among others.
