ALAGURA OF AGURA, OBA AHMED OGUNNAIKE MARKS 1ST CORONATION ANNIVERSARY, ASKS FOR MORE GOVERNMENT PRESENCE IN HIS DOMAIN

Agura Kingdom, a once sleeping community in Ikorodu Local Government may soon start witnessing government presence, via Infrastructural developments and social amenities.

This indication is based on the request of the First-Class monarch of the community, Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike Ogunderu, Alagura of Agura Kingdom for social amenities while delivering his speech at the Grand-Finale of his 1st Coronation Anniversary event held on Saturday.

Alagura said, ‘I will also like to use this medium to call on the Lagos State Government, under the dynamic leadership of Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to extend his development strides to Agura Kingdom. We need roads, new schools, hospitals and other social amenities. Agura Kingdom is currently witnessing massive influx of people and this has brought immense pressure on the little infrastructure presently on ground. We are counting on Mr Governor to come to our aid before the next rainy season’.

He equally called on corporate investors to consider investing in the development of Agura Kingdom.

‘At this point, it is pertinent for me to also use this opportunity to call on corporate investors, industry owners and development partners to join hands with me and the good people of Agura Kingdom, in bringing positive development to our community. My people are hospitable and peace-loving and you can rest assure that your investment is safe here’, he promised.

Oba Ogunderu further expressed immense joy as Agura Kingdom is making the news for positive reasons. He disclosed that the last one year of his reign as the Alagura of Agura Kingdom has been both eventful and impactful for him.

The First-class monarch also thanked the good people of Agura Kingdom for the honour bestowed on him to serve the community as their King.

‘The best thing that can happen to anyone is to be honoured among his own people. That is exactly what the good people of Agura Kingdom has done to me and I am eternally grateful to God for this rare opportunity’, he stated.

‘Let me use this medium to formally express my utmost gratitude to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for heeding the call of our people for a King to preside over this great Kingdom. Thank You, Mr Governor’.

Alagura also expressed appreciations to the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Ayodeji Adeshina for his robust support for Agura Kingdom before, during and after my coronation’.

He equally acknowledged the support and cooperation he enjoyed among his fellow Royal Fathers across Ikorodu Division since he ascended the throne of his fore-fathers.

He concluded by thanking, ‘the great people of Agura Kingdom. I therefore would want to say a Big THANK YOU to all sons, daughters and residents of Agura Kingdom for your prayers and support. Ori Ade a gbe yin o. Ase! The development of Agura Kingdom is not a100 Meters Dash, it is a marathon and I am counting on more of your support in the years ahead’.

The Monarch further reeled out some of the major milestones recorded under his reign in the last 12 months to include;

  1. Complete renovation of the old / temporary Palace
  2. Bringing back of the Oro-Lagura / Agura Day Festival
  3. Fostering of cordial relationship among residents
  4. Moral and financial support for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 General Elections
  5. Visitation to Ikeja Electric Office, leading to improved power supply in AGURA Community
