AGURA NEEDS A PROPER DEVELOPMENT PLAN, FORMER HEAD OF SERVICE, BASHORUN ROTINWA CHARGES LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT

A former Lagos State Head of Service and erstwhile Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa has called on the Lagos State Government to develop a proper development plan for the community.

Rotinwa made the call on Saturday during his speech as the Chairman of the day at the Grand-Finale event, marking the 1st Coronation Anniversary of the Alagura of Agura Kingdom, Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike Ogunderu.

The retired top civil servant warned that, without the development plan, the development of the community may be left in the hands of private developers who will end up distorting the original government plan.

‘Therefore, all hands must be on deck, towards the development of this great Kingdom across all sectors. Let me use this opportunity to call on Lagos State Government to generate a town planning design for Agura community and ensure its full adherence before the entire community town planning layout is hijacked and messed up by opportunists’, he warned.

‘I make bold to say that, Agura Kingdom today is Ikorodu Division’s potential Victoria Island. This is evident in the unique topography of this community and its natural serenity and sea shore. This goes to show that the development prospects of this great community are high’, he added.

Rotinwa also admonished the monarch to set up an Investment Committee that would facilitate private investors partnerships in developing the community.

‘Kabiyesi, may I also admonish that you set up a Committee that would assist you in attracting private investors that will work in partnership with Your Majesty towards developing this community. This would further assist in the fulfilment of your dreams and aspirations for this Great Kingdom’.

While congratulating Oba Ogunnaike on his 1st Coronation Anniversary, Rotinwa appealed to all Sons, Daughters and residents of Agura Kingdom at home and in Diaspora to join forces with Kabiyesi in developing this great Kingdom.

‘To all Distinguished Sons and Daughters as well as residents of Agura Kingdom, at home and in the Diaspora, now is the time for you all to rise up and work in collaboration with Alagura of Agura to facilitate her rapid development’, he submitted.
