Barely three weeks after announcing the plan to embark on the construction of a central motor park aimed at decongesting the perennial traffic gridlock in the Ikorodu Garage / Roundabout area, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has led his Management team and top council staffs to the proposed site.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inspection, Adeshina noted that the visit was the first phase of series of other steps to be taken to firm up the negotiations for the purchase of the expanse of land.
The proposed site which is an over 7 acres expanse of land beside the Sagamu Road Police Station is strategically positioned to accommodate thousands of vehicles at the same time.
‘The Local Government team is here to inspect the proposed site for the Ultra-Modern Ikorodu Central Motor Park. We have seen things for ourselves, according to the family the land is about seven acres’.
‘Thereafter, there would be negotiations with the family. Apart from this initial visit, our partners would also be visiting the site by next week, after which further negations will continue to enable us finalize the transaction’, he stated.
‘Once this is done and we secure the approval of the Lagos State Government, work will start on the project without further delay’, he concluded.
