The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has pledged the commitment of his administration to the rapid growth and development of Agura Kingdom.
He made the pledge in his address to Royal Fathers, Distinguished Guests and Agura Community Stakeholders during the Grand Finale Event in celebration of the 1st Coronation Anniversary of Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike Ogunderu, Alagura of Agura last Saturday.
He said, ‘It is important for me to assure the good people of Agura Kingdom of the commitment of my administration to the development of this community. To demonstrate this commitment, we have some projects currently on-going in Agura. They include the followings;
- On-going complete rehabilitation of Agura Primary Health Center.
- Light – Up Oke-Agbo Community
- Provision of borehole at Eleshin and Planned surfacing of Oke-Agbo Community Road’.
‘My administration will not rest on its oars in bringing more infrastructures to this community. To start with, we will soon be embarking on the construction of some major roads across Agura Kingdom.
In the same vein, I will also like to assure Kabiyesi and the good people of Agura Kingdom of our readiness to partner with this community and its stakeholders in attracting positive developments’, he added.
Adeshina also congratulated the Alagura on the occasion of his first Coronation Anniversary while applauding the Monarch for providing dynamic leadership for the entire Agura Kingdom since he ascended the throne of his fore-fathers in the last 12 months.
He noted that the relative peace, unity and steady growth being witnessed across Agura Kingdom were proofs of Alagura’s dynamic leadership.
The Council boss however to appealed to the good people of Agura Kingdom to support his administration through prompt payment of taxes and rates so that he can bring more infrastructural projects to Agura community.
Concluding, Adeshina charged residents, sons and daughters of Agura Kingdom and Ikorodu Local Government in general to continue to support the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for the delivery of more dividends of democracy to the community.
The Grand Finale event which was chaired by a former Lagos State Head of Service, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa was attended by Royal Fathers, public office holders and distinguished guests.
The Secretary to Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Lateef Afinih led other cabinet members of the Council to the event.
Management Staffs of Ikorodu Ikorodu Local Government was represented by senior Management Staffs, led by the Head of Administration, Engr Martins Odupitan.
