ULTRA-MODERN HALL COMMISSIONING: PARTNERSHIP WITH PRIVATE SECTOR WILL BOOST COUNCIL’S REVENUE IKORODU LG BOSS, HON WASIU ADESHINA

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has stated that his administration’s partnership with the private sector will continue to improve his council’s internally generated revenue.

Adeshina gave this hint yesterday, at the formal commissioning of the O’Clean Event Hall located within the council’s secretariat premises.

Adesina who described the project as a collaboration between the public and private sector, explained that the essence of the partnership was to boost the council’s revenue base.

‘This project is a product of our propensities to accumulate our earnings in the local government. When my administration started, the council had an annual revenue base of 5 million naira, but today we now generated about 200 million naira annually’, he stated.

‘Like we have done with this project, the council has successfully found ways to thrive and improve its revenue without putting pressure on the good people in Ikorodu Local Government, and we’ll continue to do so’, Adesina added.

The 400 Seater capacity hall, which was hitherto was in a very bad state was renovated and given a facelift by a private investor, O’Clean Investment who invested in the total upgrade and overhauling of the Hall.

With state-of-the-art facilities now available, the hall is set to favourably compete with other A-List Event Centres in Ikorodu LGA to host wedding receptions, anniversary celebrations, corporate events, state functions, and burial receptions, while also serving as a conference centre and an arena for religious and other social activities.

Speaking to guests in attendance at the official commissioning, Mr Akadri Babatunde Adeleke initiator of the project, explained that a wide variety of activities such as age and gender group meetings, retreats, Town hall meetings and more can also take place in the centre with.

He also announced a 20% Opening Promo Discount for patrons who use the hall in the next 12 months.

He continued, ‘Our special features include a welcoming red-carpet reception, a special guest waiting room, caterers and catering space, and executive conveniences for male and female guests with a Constant power supply backed up with a standby power generating set”.

“There is availability of spacious parking lot, Wi-Fi, and other complementing amenities to ensure the comfort of guests during events’.

Conveying his gratitude, Mr Akadiri applauded the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina for opening up his government to private partnership, without which the project would not be a reality.

The major highpoint of the event was the official commissioning of the hall by a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, who commended the Local Government for constantly defining paths to growth.

Guests were later taken on a guided tour of the facility by Mr Akadri Babatunde Adeleke.

Others in attendance included, a Former Head of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Basorun (Alhaji) Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, Iya Oloja General Of Ikorodu Division, Alhaja Taofikat Allison, a former Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Alhaji Waheed Owokorodu, Alhaji Ola4, Alhaji M. Gafaar, APC woman Leader in Ikorodu Division, Alhaja Rashidat among others.

APC Ikorodu Party Leaders, Ikorodu LG Executives, Ikorodu LG Supervisors, NULGE, and Representatives of the Arewa Community in Ikorodu were also in attendance.

The new Ultra-Modern Event Hall is fully air-conditioned with supporting facilities and stand-by generator.

Part of the hall’s added value is free WiFi internet access for guests.
