The Federal Lawmaker, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defense, Hon Babajimi Benson has commended the visionary leadership of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), led by Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe for sustaining the legacy of Ikorodu Division heroes and heroines, through the Ikorodu Division Hall of Fame.
Benson gave the commendation on the sideline of his formal induction into the Hall of Fame on Friday, 8th December.
Rep Benson was formally inducted by the Chairman of IDRDG, Senator Ogunlewe in a private event, organized in honour of Benson, who could not join others inductees in the Class of 2023 during their induction on 23rd November.
The federal lawmaker commended Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe and his team for for finding him worthy to be listed among great giants in this in Ikorodu Division.
‘Coming here today and seeing many illustrious sons and daughters of Ikorodu Division who have covered many fields being hung here, it gives me a lot of nostalgia. It is a historical place, it is a place where where students can come, pupils and even myself’, he said.
‘It is a learning place and I have seen giants among men, locally and internationally. Men who have done well for themselves in various fields, medical, education, politics and fashion. Even the richest woman in Africa has her frame hung here. I’ve seen Odofin Adewumi Ogunsanya, Seye Ogunlewe and many others. It is indeed a great honour to be recognized among these great giants’, he noted.
He concluded by expressing his appreciations to Senator Ogunlewe for doing him the great honour and for preserving the Hall of Fame. The amiable federal lawmaker also thanked all his political associates and APC Chieftains who turned up, for making the day very very memorable for him.
He confessed that the day was indeed a great day for him, while pledging his commitment towards ensuring that the Hall of Fame is well kept, well preserved and revamped for the benefits of upcoming generations of Ikorodu Division.
Benson equally visited the IDRDG ICT Hub, where he once again, commended the Senator Ogunlewe’s leadership of IDRDG for initiating the ICT Hub and pledged to be a partner-in-progress for the successful management of the hub.
He noted that the knowledge of ICT has become the visa to the world and expressed satisfaction that Ikorodu Division has already keyed into this global trend.
Benson’s formal induction was witnessed by some Executive Chairmen across Ikorodu Division, APC Chieftains and members of the I-Care Foundation, led by the Director-general , Mayor Deen Sanwoola.
