The much-awaited Made-in-Ikorodu Marketplace Directory is finally ready for formal public presentation and launch as part of activities marking the 2019 edition of the annual Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration, starting from Sunday 9th to 16th November, 2019.
This confirmation was made by Alh Kolawole Fatai, IKODASS Deputy Chairman and Chairman, planning committee of the public presentation of the Made-in-Ikorodu Marketplace Directory, a joint project between IKODASS and Nigeria’s foremost online community radio, Ikorodu Oga Radio.
According to Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Publisher of the directory, ‘you will agree with me that this project is long overdue. We were supposed to do the formal presentation at last year’s Ikorodu Oga Day celebration but, we had to shelve the idea because we were not satisfied with the level of work done and we were not ready to compromise on the benchmark we gave ourselves on the project’, he said.
He added that the postponement has afforded his team the much needed time required to perfect the publication, with a view to coming out with a publication that will not only be excellent but, one that will be a veritable tool in the hands of business stakeholders across Ikorodu and beyond.
Akinyemi added that, his Ikorodu Oga Radio outfit entered into strategic partnership with with Otunba Abiru-led Ikorodu Oga Development Association, towards prosecuting the project as a way of taking the annual Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration beyond a socio -cultural event to one that can promote the economic growth and development of the community.
‘This is in line with the theme of this year’s celebration, Cultural Revolution- A Necessity for Socio-Economic Political Empowerment’, he added.
The formal public presentation of the Made-in-Ikorodu Marketplace Directory has been slated for Monday, 11th November, 2019 at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall.
