The 59th Independence Day anniversary celebration of Nigeria may have come and gone but, a non-governmental organsiation based in Ikorodu has left impactful memories on the minds of youths and teenagers across Ikorodu division of the State.
According to the organizers, the Teens Summit themed Plus One, organized by Radiance Niche Consult was aimed at igniting the flame of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship on youths and teenagers in Ikorodu by introducing them to an array of available skills and profitable business opportunities that can be harnessed for their economic emancipation and self-reliance.
Major highpoints of the event includes inter-school debate competition and panel discussions, which featured successful entrepreneurs. The summit featured seasoned guest speakers from within and outside Ikorodu who left no stone unturned to do justice to the twin issue of entrepreneurship and skill acquisition.
Some of the facilitators also offered scholarship opportunities to interested participants.
Speaking on the vision behind the annual event, Convener of the Summit, Mrs Ajibola Babalola expressed satisfaction and delight at the massive turn-out of teenagers at the summit.
She however stressed the need for collective efforts from all and sundry for societal building through economic empowerment and emancipation of teenagers and youths.
