PARENTS, GUARDIANS ELATED AS BENEFICIARIES OF LATE JUSTICE MUDASHEER AKANBI ABIRU FULL SCHOLARSHIP RECEIVE CHEQUES

Parents and guardians  of outstanding students in higher institutions of learning who are indigenes and residents of Ikorodu division, that qualified for the Late Justice Mubasheer Akanbi Abiru Full Scholarship were elated last Saturday when their children received the scholarship prizes.

Each of the students  received cheques of  N100,000 (Hundred Thousand Naira Only) scholarship, sponsored by Senator Abiru, in honour of his father. The Late Justice Mubasheer Akanbi Abiru Full Scholarship is under the supervision of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS).

Beneficiaries will receive the scholarship throughout their years of study if they maintain  excellence in their academics.

IKODASS Chairman, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, in his opening remarks, thanked the distinguished Senator for his immense contributions towards the development of the Ikorodu Division, and his constant support for IKODASS. He specially commended the Senator for the Full scholarship award he sponsored for higher education students who are indigenes and residents of Ikorodu.
 
The Senator, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Dr Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, explained the passion of the Senator in the area of education and Human Capital Development, especially for young people. According to him, the only enduring legacies that stand the test of time are quality investment in education of young people and Human capital development. Dr Ibikunle said it was high time  Ikorodu took its place of pride in Education. 

Iyaloja General of Ikorodu, Alhaja  Taofikat Allison, also encouraged the students to face their studies and thanked the Senator for the kind gestures. Dignitaries in attendance include: Sir Ayodele Elesho,the Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom,  Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, Senior lecturer at LASU, Prof Michael Adejumobi, emeritus professor of Mathematics ,Alhaja Abiodun Ogunniyi, a retired Principal at Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu,  among other eminent personalities.
