Barely two weeks after his election as the Chairman of one of the foremost Ikorodu social clubs, The Exclusives Club, Ikorodu, the new Chairman of the club, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa has pledged to use his new position to accelerate the development of Ikorodu Division.
Rotinwa disclosed this is an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio in his acceptance speech.
‘My mission is to re-invent the positioning of Ikorodu Division people in the forefront in key sectors like we had it in the past’, he said.
‘You can say it is the responsibility of the government to develop the community but, someone needs to spur the government to action where and when necessary’, he added.
Speaking further, Alh Rotinwa also pledged to leverage on his new position to ensure that government gives the needed attention to Ikorodu Division in terms of infrastructural development.
‘My executive team and our members will engage on regular brainstorming and cross-fertilization of ideas with a view to influence government programme and policies in favour of our Division’.
Rotinwa also explained that his generation drew inspiration from some deceased Ikorodu eminent personalities who were the first eminent Nigerians in the field of Law, Medicine, Politics, Engineering, etc and pioneered The Exclusives Club.
He also listed some of these great Ikorodu heroes to include, Late Asiwaju B O Benson, Justice Adeniji, Dr Ajenifuja, a Pediatrist and former Consultant to the Gowon government. Femi Alokolaro, a Lawyer and former Attorney-General of Lagos State and many others who were members of The Exclusives Club.
Rotinwa noted that, the club has made massive impacts in the lives of indigenes of Ikorodu Division across board and that he is committed to increase the tempo.
On what Ikorodu Division indigenes and residents should expect from his leadership of the Club, Alh Rotinwa promised that, his team would use their positions and networks to facilitate developmentAl projects to Ikorodu Division and serve as a platform for reaching out to government functionaries based on the identified needs of the community.

By his election, Rotinwa has joined the league of The Exclusives Club Chairmen, like Dr Bolaji Adeniji and Odofin of Ikorodu, Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya SAN among others.
Rotinwa was elected as the new Chairman of The Exclusives Club on Sunday, 4th December while the formal inauguration of the new executive has been slated for February, 2023.
