NO GOING BACK ON REHABILITATION OF ERUNWEN ROAD, HON JIMI BENSON ASSURES CONCERNED RESIDENTS

Hon Babajimi Benson, Chairman House of Reps Committee on Defense and member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps has assured residents of Erunwen Community in Ikorodu North LCDA that there iss no going back on his promise to rehabilitate the dilapidated 3.3 kilometer road.

Benson gave the reassurance in an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio on Monday.

The clarification became necessary, against the backdrop of concerns raised by some residents over the movement of some equipment from the site by the contractors.

Many residents have expressed worry and fears that the road project, which was flagged off barely two week ago may have been abandoned.

Speaking with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Hon Benson stressed that he does not embark on projects that would not be completed. He noted that he has so far facilitated about 32 road projects across Ikorodu federal Constituency and they were all completed within three to four months and the Erunwen road project would not be an exception.

‘There is no going back on the rehabilitation of Erunwen road. The project is already fully funded, so there is no cause for alarm’, he stated.

On the movement of machineries from the site, Hon Benson said that, ‘the machineries were moved out of site to be replaced by more powerful ones to increase efficiency.

‘If there is any problem, I would be the first to inform the residents’, he submitted.

To buttress his position, Hon Benson shared some photos of the new equipment being moved from Abuja to the site as tracked on the road to Lagos with us.
