MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEALTH, DR TUNJI ALAUSA, SENATOR ABIRU, REP BENSON, OTHERS BAG ORIWU CLUB PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Many prominent Ikorodu Indigenes and other prominent Nigerians were today, 16th December, honoured with the annual Oriwu Club, Ikorodu President’s Award of Recognitions.

Prominent among the awardees were the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr Tunji Alausa, Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru and Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defense, Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson.

The trio were honoured alongside other members of the Club who have contributed financially and otherwise to the development of the foremost Club.

Other recipients were, Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Sir David Sunmoni and Mr Wole Sebioba.

Speaking before presenting the awards to the recipients, Oriwu Club President, Engr Amid Adekunle Oduborisha noted that, each of the awardees gave his executive committee massive support, leading to the landmark achievements his administration recorded.

He therefore stressed that the award was meant to formally acknowledge and appreciate their individual and collective supports for his administration.

Responding, both Senator Abiru and Rep Benson renewed their commitments to the services of the Club, noting that the reward for hard work was more work.

Similarly, Mr Sunmoni and Mr Sebioba thanked the President for the honour he bestowed on them.

On the part of Dr Alausa, the Minister of State for Health promised to support the second phase of the Club’s legacy project, towards equipping the newly renovated Agbala Primary 3health facility.

The well-attended event was graced by notable personalities across Ikorodu and beyond, they include, Dr. Tunji Alausa, Honorable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare; Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defense, Rep. Babajimi Benson and Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Royal Fathers in attendance were, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom; Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom; Oba Aremu Shotonwa, Sekumade of Ipakodo and their retinue of Baales and Chiefs.
