The immediate past Chairman of Lagos State Hoteliers Association Ikorodu Chapter, Mr Tunde Gbolade, who is also the Chairman of De Sleek Inn and Arena has charged the body’s newly elected Chairman and executive members to strive to beat his records as Chairman of the association.
Mr Gbolade gave this charge in an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio, shortly after the inauguration of the new executives of the association at the body’s Annual General Meeting held at De-Sleek Inn and Arena, Igbe Road, Ikorodu on Wednesday, 26th May.
The inauguration exercise which was performed by the State Chairman of the association in person of Oluomo Jami Talabi was the first election cum change of guard of any executives of the local chapters of the association in the State.
Speaking to Ikorodu Oga Radio on the sideline of the event, State Chairman of the association, Mr Oluomo Jamiu Talabi also challenged the new executives to ensure ‘they need to take the association to the next levels. They have seen where the immediate past executives took the association, they cannot afford to come below the standards. At the State level, we are also challenging ourselves and we cannot afford any zone to draw us back’, he said.
He also commended the immediate past executives of the Ikorodu Chapter of the association for taking the lead in conducting a seamless election and change of guard among all the local chapters in the state, promising to charge others to take a cue from the Ikorodu chapter.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Mr Ademola Sotunde commended the outgone executives for their tremendous contributions to the growth of the association in Ikorodu, He also pledged to take the association to the next levels, with the support of his team.
Earlier, Mr Tunde Gbolade who also doubles as the State Internal Auditor and the immediate past chairman of the Ikorodu Chapter of the association said he was fulfilled having served the association meritoriously for eight (8) good years.
‘I feel great and fulfilled and I think this is a lesson to everybody, you should not to sit tight. Like I said in the hall, I have the opportunity, if I want to go in for another four years. Age has caught up with me and I cannot be as agile as before, I felt it was time to quit and allow others to do it’ he submitted.

Although I do not belong to Ikorodu Zone, but I have friends among them, and the stories we heard about the outgoing Executives is a very good one in terms of their performances. I am appealing to them to please give the newly inaugurated Executives all the necessary supports. God will grant them the grace to perform very well and above expectation. Congratulations Large.
