Following the rumour making the rounds in certain quarters that Ikorodu APC Leaders have settled for a consensus candidature of Ikorodu Vice Chairman, Hon Folashade Olabanji-Oba and a former leader of the House, Hon Azeez Olosugbo, both of whom are running on a joint ticket as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively, the WADESH Group, campaign vehicle of the incumbent Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has debunked the rumour, describing it is erroneous and misleading.
The group debunked the purported decision in a press conference addressed by the group’s Director-General, Leke Akadiri at the group’s campaign office along TOS Benson Road, Ikorodu. Akadiri who described the rumour as the handiwork of desperate elements who are bent on misleading the voting members of the party at the primaries slated for Saturday May 29 inmsisted that, Hon Wasiu Adeshina remains the candidate to beat in the party’s primaries on Saturday.
He added that, the group remain committed to the decision of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the candidates to go for direct primaries, where consensus arrangement fails.
He therefore declared that, since no consensus candidates has emerged for the position of the Ikorodu Local Government Chairman, they should all be ready to test their popularity and acceptance among party members at the party’s primaries on Saturday.

Adeshina is Working ! Ikorodu is moving !!
The attention of the campaign team of Honourable Wasiu Adeshina, the incumbent chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, a critical stakeholder and an aspirant in the coming has been drawn to a deceitful propaganda and deliberate attempt to mislead the party members and the entire public of their purported endorsement of some candidates of the party in Ikorodu local government.
The assertion is erroneous, mischievous, unfounded and holds no water, which is contrary to the norms of democracy in any democratic setting.
We hereby debunk the claim in its entirety. Honourable Wasiu Adeshina is ready for the direct primary that is prescribed by the party as the only means for choosing party candidates.
Their actions was an act of indiscipline, desperation, and handiwork of misguided elements within the political folds in Ikorodu to cause crisis.
Furthermore, we urge our amiable members to be calm and embrace peace, disregard their “purported imposition” for the progress of the party.
We want to state unequivocally that Hon. Wasiu Adeshina believes in the credibility and the capability of the party to organise and coordinate a free and fair direct primary election as it has been done in the past, and this will not be an exception.
It will interest you to know that our amiable National leader Jagaban Borgu, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a plain language said he had no annointed candidates, where concensus does not work, we should all go for party primary (Undiluted) and on Asiwaju’s position and directive, we stand.
We urge all party faithful to come out on Saturday 29th May, 2021 at their various WARDS with their APC membership slips to cast their votes for Honourable Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina for 2nd term to continue the good work he is doing.
Finally we want to express our commitment to the procedure specified by the party to engender acceptable candidate for the party without fear or favour. Secondly, we urge our party members to be law abiding before, during and after the primaries. We shall explore all avenue to maintain peace and any further development.
