LG ELECTIONS: HON SHUKURA ADEWUNMI-OKEOWO UNVEILS SEVEN (7) POINT DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR IKORODU NORTH LCDA

Barely few days to the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress, ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in the State, a leading aspirant for the office of the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Shukura Adewunmi-Okeowo, the only female aspirant in the Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship race has unveiled her Seven (7) Point Development Agenda for the council area.

The female politician, who once served as the Sole Administrator of the council area from 2016 to 2017 disclosed that, as someone who was born and raised in the council area, she understood the challenges as well as the potentials of the council more than many others. She also expressed her readiness to build the council into a pride of its founding fathers, if she emerges the party’s candidate at Saturday’s party primaries.

See the full development agenda below;

SECURITY                                                                                                                       Recognizing that, Security of lives and property is the primary duty of any government; I have developed a holistic security architecture that will put a permanent end to the perennial security breaches currently being experienced in our council area. This, we intend to achieve through strategic partnership with all stakeholders.

INFRASTRUCTURE                                                                                                                    I recognize that, infrastructural development is pivotal to the growth of any society. Starting from Isiu, our LCDA headquarters, our administration will ensure that government presence is felt across Ikorodu North LCDA, through provision of social amenities and infrastructural projects.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT                                                                                                         Youth population is the strength of Ikorodu North LCDA. The issue of insecurity and restiveness is traceable to the lack of government driven policy aimed at productively engaging our teeming youths. We intend to change the narratives by productively channeling the energy of our youths to productive activities.

WOMEN DEVELOPMENT                                                                                                         As a woman myself, I recognize the place of women empowerment in the development of any society. I will engage and partner with fellow women, towards enhancing their capacity. With this done, the family units and society at large will be the best for it.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT                                                                                                       One of the strongest strengths of Ikorodu North LCDA is its youth population. While this has been a major source of concern before now, owing to insecurity and youth unrest, I am set to leverage my background, professional exposure to turn our youth population into a strategic development point for our council area.

HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT                                                                                                    As a former Supervisory Councilor for Health in Ikorodu North LCDA, I am fully aware of the importance of a healthy population and a safe environment for the progress and development of the LCDA.

My administration will be committed to the building / facilitation of more primary health centres and prompt delivery of drugs to existing ones. In the same vein, we will partner with CDAs/CDCs and other stakeholders towards ensuring that we maintain a safe environment for all and sundry.

AGRICULTURE                                                                                             Ikorodu North LCDA is blessed with massive uncultivated landmass. Similarly, we are hosts to major Lagos State Government Agricultural facilities. My administration will leverage these potentials to the advantage of our council area and for the benefit of its good people, particularly our youth population.
