In what can be described as unveiling of the vision of the present Mr Akinwunmi Amnode led Lagos state government to open up Ikorodu Division to potential investors, both local and foreign, so as to maximise the huge investment potentials available in the division, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Prince Rotimi, Ogunleye, has revealed that projects in the division has kicked off in earnest in line with the economic development plan of Governor Akinwumi Ambode for the division.
The Commissioner made the disclosure on Ikorodu Oga Radio when featuring on the station’s Ikorodu Division Icon Show. He revealed that, huge projects are on-going at Imota for the establishment of Industrial Park, where the rice mill has also been upgraded to produce 40, 000 tons per day, as well as the Enterprise Zone in Gberigbe.
Honourable Ogunleye added that the 22 hectare-Industrial Park is designed to cater for medium scale enterprises in Ikorodu, while the 10-hectre Enterprise Zone in Gberigbe in envisioned to exist as the start up hub for fashion econonomy and training in the state, on which the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) has partnered with the State Goverment.
Prince Ogunleye, further stated that the two projects are currently at electrification stage,and on completion, they would be opened to SMEs in the division after the commissioning by his Excellency, Governor Ambode later this year.
