The ancient town of Igbogbo is in a gearing up for the 10th coronation anniversary of its revered monarch, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali,AdeboruwaIgbogbo Kingdom.
Though the commemorative event is still a few months away, the event has continued to gather momentum with various pre-coronation activities.
Ahead of the historic milestone Coronation Anniversary, the revered monarch, yesterday, 28th April 2026, has unveiled the official anniversary “Aso-Ebi” fabrics, a colourful top grade lace material for women and ankara fabrics for both male and female sons, daughters and well-wishers.
Oba Kasali was joined at the unveiling ceremony by his beautiful queens, Olori Sekinat Omolara Kasali and Olori Kafayat Omobolanle Kasali, as well as high and honourary chiefs, respected stakeholders, and members of the anniversary planning committee, led by retired Head of Service, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe.
The event attracted widespread attention within the community, symbolizing unity, culture, and shared pride as preparations continue for a decade of the monarch’s eventful reign.
Organizers announced a clearly defined dress code for the celebration: the Ankara fabric, paired with a traditional cap, is designated for male participants, while the lace fabric, complemented with gele, is reserved for female participants.
The Aso-Ebi is expected to create a coordinated, colourful and uniform display throughout the week-long anniversary activities slated for July.
Speaking at the unveiling, Oba Kasali expressed appreciation to the people of Igbogbo for their continued support and loyalty over the years.
The monarch noted that the 10th anniversary represents not only a celebration of his coronation but also a reflection of the improved unity, growth, and development the community has witnessed in the past 10 years.
Indigenes and residents have been encouraged to visit Afin Adeboruwa to pick their official fabrics ahead of the celebration.
