In the effort to ensure a hitch-free event, and to allow timely nominations for the award categories this year, organisers of Nigeria’s flagship grassroots development awards; the Ikorodu Community Development Awards (ICDA), has declared nominations open for the 2017 awards.
Speaking at a press briefing held at 4, Idowu Fatoki Street, Ikorodu, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, Chairman of ICDA screening circuit, Founder and CEO, Ikorodu Oga Radio, Omo’ ba Peju Akinyemi, stated that nominations will be opened until midnight, Sunday, 5th March, 2017. In the same vein, Chairman, ICDA Board of Trustees, Mr Austin Awolonu, encouraged residents of Ikorodu to nominate deserving men and women who have with7n the past year impacted lives for good.
Award categories for ICDA 2017 include: Market of the year award, Garage of the year award, Honourable S O B Agunbiade award for the most outstanding CDA of the year, Most Outstanding Social Service contribution, M8st Outstanding Sports contribution of the year award, Most outstanding arts contribution of the year award. Other categories are Most outstanding primary helath centre of the year, Bishop Mike Okonkwo Award for the Most Outstanding Secondary School of the year in Ikorodu and the Rhoda Youth Award for student with best WASSCE result in Ikorodu.
Organisers of the annual award have also introduced a new award category to honour and recognize those contributing to the development of the division in the area of social services and empowerment of the less-privileged.
