INSECURITY: IKORODU COUNCIL CHAIRMEN, LAGOS POLICE COMMAND HOLDS PARLEY, SEEK COLLABORATION

The Executive Chairmen of the six Local Council areas in Ikorodu Division yesterday had a parley with men of the Nigerian Police Force.

The meeting was held at the conference room of the Ikorodu Local Government and hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina.

The meeting, Co-chaired by Ikorodu’s two State lawmakers, Hon Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo and Hon Aro Moshood Abiodun, we gathered, was meant to review the current state of insecurity in the Division, with a view to forge a common front towards ensuring that residents can sleep with their two eyes closed.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina led the Council Chairmen’s team while the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha who was ably represented by ACP Jaiyeoba Joseph, ACP SID Ikeja led the Police Team to the parley.

Others at the meeting were, the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju, Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Adeola Banjo, the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Hon Sesan Daini and his counterpart from Imota LCDA, Hon Wasiu Adekunle Agoro.

Other members of the Police Team who graced the parley were the six Ikorodu Division DPOs, led by the Area Commander, Area “N” Ijede.

The meeting was unanimous on the need for both parties and residents to collaborate for peace and order to be restored to the Division, particularly the troubled council areas.

The State lawmakers equally pledged their readiness to work with the Council Chairmen and the Police for the maintenance of peace and security across all council areas within the Division.
