COUNCIL POLLS: I’LL DO MORE IN MY SECOND TERM, ADESHINA PLEDGES, AS APC FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN IN IKORODU LGA

The incumbent Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming local government elections in the State, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has promised to embark on more developmental projects in his second term in office.

Adeshina made the pledge shortly after he was formally presented to the party leadership and teeming supporters at the Ita Elewa open ground, opposite Ikorodu Post Office, signifying the official flag-off of his second term electioneering campaign.

Adeshina, who was flanked by his wife, Mrs Bolanle Adeshina and Vice Chairman. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba praised the leadership of APC in Ikorodu for entrusting him with the party’s mandate for the second time.

‘I must appreciate the support of our party leaders in Ikorodu for entrusting me with the ticket of the party for a second term in office. What we have done in our first time will be a child’s to the developmental projects we will embark upon once we are sworn in, work will start the immediately’, he promised.

The Chairmanship candidate’s speech was greeted with applause and dancing by elated party members and leaders who graced the event.

Addressing party men and supporters at the event, a former leader of the house of Ikorodu local government and APC chairmanship aspirant, Hon Jimoh Azeez Olosugbo appealed to party members to bury their hatchets and work for the victory of Hon Wasiu Adeshina and the councillorship candidates in the July 24 election.

Similarly, another former APC aspirant and a former Chairman of the party in Ikorodu local government, Alh Rilwan Jinadu also corroborated Hon Olosugbo’s position. He stated that, both himself and his supporters remain in the APC to work for the success of Hon Adeshina and other party candidates in the forthcoming council elections.
