The popular saying of Chris Weidman’s “There is no ceiling, just a continuation of improvement”, would perfectly describe the motivating factor for the former Executive Secretary, Ikorodu Local Government; Honourable Wasiu Adesina, who recently revealed that, he decided to contest for the office of the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government in the forthcoming Local government elections after moments of reflection and the desire for continuity and consolidation on his achievements during his stint as the Executive Secretary of the local government.
Hon Adeshina stated this at the formal declaration of his intention to contest, which was well attended by Chieftains of the All Progressive congress in Ikorodu, party faithfuls, youth and women groups from Ikorodu Central, and all the seven ward leaders in Ikorodu LGA. Honourable Adesina said he considers himself fit and competent to take Ikorodu Central to the next level, based on his vast experience in Local Government and Public Service.
In his words, ‘having done very well in my short stay as the Executive Secretary of the local government, with remarkable projects to my credit, I feel assuming an elected chairmanship position of the local government will afford me the opportunity to do more for the good people of Ikorodu’.
The Chairmanship aspirant also marked the occasion of declaring his intention to contest with a book launch, titled “Road to Progress, which highlighted all projects he embarked upon, as Executive Secretary. The projects include, road rehabilitation and drainage constructions, construction of Ultra-Modern Sabo market among other projects and achievements.
