IKORODU LG MANAGEMENT, STAFFS HOST SEND-FORTH FOR RETIRING COUNCIL MANAGER, HRO, AS COUNCIL BOSS PRESENTS CM WITH TOYOTA PICK-UP VAN

Though, yesterday 26th March was officially their last day as member of staff of Ikorodu Local Government, the day would continue to linger for a long time on the minds of Engr Martins Odupitan, the former Council Manager of the council and Mr Olabode Adebola, outgone Human Resources Officer of the local government.

This was due to the fact that the former senior council officials were hosted to a Send-Forth ceremony, organized in their honour by the council management and staff.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina who referred to the the Council Manager as his friend described Engr Martins as a reliable and dependable officer.

Adeshina noted that, despite being elderly, the former Council Manager always accord him the respect demanded of his office as Executive Chairman.

He further disclosed that, Enger Martins never argued nor confront him whenever he had a different view and would rather look for a diplomatic way of expressing himself, to the extent of apologizing whenever they both disagreed.

Adeshina shared similar views about the retiring Human Resources Officer, Mr. Olabode Adebola, confessing that he would miss their team-spirit and dedication to duties.

Members of staffs at the event spoke glowingly about the two retiring senior local government officers and prayed for successes in their future endeavors.

Leader of the Ikorodu Local Government Legislative House, Hon Adebola Adebowale praised the two officers for upholding the highest standards of professional excellence in their services to the council.

Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba in her remarks thanked the two retiring officers for serving the council wholeheartedly.

Similarly, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Lateef Afinih while congratulating the retirees disclosed that a more befitting Send-Forth ceremony would be organized for them after the on-going Ramadan fast.

While Engr Martins Odupitan was overtaken by emotions and could not speak due to the overwhelming love shown to him by the council and members of staff, Mr. Olabode Adebola, the outgone Human Resources Officer thanked the Chairman, Hon Adeshina, his executive council members, the legislative house and entire Ikorodu Local Government staffs for their cooperation while they worked together as staffs.

He equally thanked them for organizing the Send-Forth party for himself and the Council Manager.

The event climaxed with the presentation of gifts to the Honourees by representatives of the local government staffs.

The Council Manager was subsequently presented with his last official car, a Toyota Tacoma Pick-up as a parting gift by the Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adeshina.
