Investigation by our correspondent shows that, most parts of Ikorodu Division were plunged into darkness for several weeks in February 2017, when the power distribution company; Ikeja Electric, announced an upgrade on some of its facilities in the area, thereby shutting down supply to some parts of Ikorodu Division community, namely: Ebute-Ipakodo, Ibeshe, Eyita, Benson area, Sabo and Agric has been without power for weeks. Over a month after, the power supply situation had taken a more terrible twist, with communities such as Odoguyan, Lagos Polytechnic area, Baiyeku and other communities continue to live in darkness, hence visiting untold hardships on residents and paralyzing business activities.

Most businesses in the areas affected have had to operate on generating sets to make ends meet, while those who could not afford to, have continued to wish for power while waiting in frustration.
