IKORODU CONSTITUENCY 1: LAGOS MAJORITY LEADER, HON AGUNBIADE FLAGS OFF 5TH TERM CAMPAIGN, IN ‘A QUEST FOR MORE SERVICE’

Majority Leader of the Lagos state house of Assembly, Hon SOB Agunbiade has showcased his performance score card to member of his constituency, APC party faithfuls and other community stakeholders at a well attended event at his Constituency Office in Ikorodu, while appealing for the support of his constituents for a 5th term in.offoce.

He made the assertion under his address to the gathering titled; A Quest for More Service… in the interest of the larger picture.

Agunbaide who also doubles as the Majority Leader of the Lagos State Assembly noted that, he has garnered massive legislative experience and exposures that placed him above other contenders for the party ticket in Ikorodu.

He likened the Lagos State House of Assembly to a literal massive ocean that is capable of drowning small ships, stressing that the representative that would make a difference in the House must be ranking members with multiple terms, thus advising Ikorodu stakeholders not to make the mistake of fielding a new comer so as not to reduce the relevance of the Ikorodu Constituency 1 in the Lagos Assembly.

‘This opportunity and the resultant mandate has accorded me the magnitude of legislative experience which has equipped me to accomplish the dividends of democracy that I have brought to the constituency in different forms and areas over the years past. With this current term winding up, it becomes imperative to improve on the glowing face of Ikorodu constituency 1 in the House of assembly and make bolder efforts to further chisel our iamge on the granite of history with attendant benefits to our people.This is the picture that is larger than an individual that will represent us to make this happen.This larger picture transcends whatever supposed benefits that will be accruable to the representative if we must think large as we should’, he stated.

‘However for the larger picture to be driven home, the gladiator must be imbued with enormous legislative experience, practically garnered over the years; must be bold, courageous and feasible among hisbpeers for comparative legislative assessments and ranking.This is the reasons U am making this historic quest for another mandate of my people in the interest of the larger picture, to the advantage of our collective being as a people’, he emphasised.

‘I hereby make this passionate appeal that you please grant me another term and help the cause of history that will stand to our advantages as a people’, Hon SOB Agunbiade submitted.

In his welcome address, Coordinator of the Onward Movement of Nigeria, the foundation and campaign vehicle of Hon Agunbaide, Hon Azeez Jimoh stressed that, returning Agunbaide for the fifth term was the wiseset decision Ikorodu stakeholders must take.He stated that, though Agunbaide was not the most educated, nor the most exposed Ikorodu son, he however tower above others in terms of possessing sterling leadership qualities that would help to rightly position Ikorodu Constituency 1 in the Assembly.

Speaking further, Jimoh explained that, while federal lawmakers are entitled to constituency allowances and projects, the state legislators at not entitled to any of such, thus clarifying the difference between state and federal legislators.

Concluding, Jimoh canvassed for the support of Ikorodu stakeholders for Agunbaide’s fifth term so that the constituency can witness massive project facilitation similar to what Agege and Surulere are currently enjoying to returning Speakers Obasa and Gbajabiamila for 6th and 5th get a respectively.

Agunbuade also used the occassion to showcase his landmark achievements since his return to the House in 2019.

In the publication, Agunbiade listed many bills, motions and oversight functions he has engaged in. He equally listed names and contact phone numbers of 110 constituents that employment from through him.

A major highlight of the event was the open endorsement of the national Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President.
