LAHA 2023: IKORODU CONSTITUENCY 1 LG/LCDA CHAIRMEN, POLITICAL LEADERS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR GBOLAHAN OGUNLEYE, INAUGURATES CAMPAIGN TEAM, FOOT SOLDIERS

The race for the next occupant of the Ikorodu Constituency 1 House of Assembly seat is getting more competitive with the entrants of Gbolahan Ogunleye, son of Ikorodu Division’s APC Apex Leader, Prince Abiodun Ogenleye. Gbolahan once served as the Sole Administrator of the Ikorodu Local Government between 2016 to 2017.

Also, chairmen of Ikorodu local government, Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North LCDA has thrown their weights behind and formally pledged their unalloyed support for the younger Ogunleye’s aspiration.

The entry of Gbolahan also known as OGA, an acronym of his three names- Ogunleye-Gbolahan-Adetokunbo has been in the rumour mill for some weeks, but all of these have been finally put to rest with the inauguration of his campaign team and foot soldiers on 21st April at his father’s residence at Solomade in Ikorodu.

Welcoming party faithfuls and political office holders across Ikorodu’s three local government and Local council development areas  to the inauguration event, Alh Lateef Affinih the Director-General of the OGA Campaign Team and Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government, stated that the gathering was called to rally support for the aspiration of Gbolahan Ogunleye, son of the Ikorodu APC Apex Leader as a way of paying back the support they have all received from his father in fulfillment of their individual political aspirations in the past 20 years.

Addressing the gathering, Ikorodu Local Government Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adeshina noted that, Gbolahan Ogunleye’s ambition should be the rallying point of all Ikorodu APC stakeholders, considering the fact that his father, Prince Ogunleye has never made any demand on the Ikorodu APC family, hence his first request, after many years of supporting others should be supported.

Speaking in the same vein, Hon Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju, Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA stated that the aspiration of Ogunleye was a clarion call for him and other progressives. He noted that his relationship with Prince Abiodun Ogunleye predates his current political office, noting that the old man played significant role in his qualification as a Chartered Accountant.

Corroborating the position of his colleagues, the Executive Chairman oof Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Adebisi Banjo noted that Gbolahan Ogunleye’s.ambition was a done deal and that all progressive minded APC members should ensure its realization.

Hon Banjo added that, having received massive supports from Prince Abiodun Ogunleye in the past, without him making any financial demand, it was natural for him and other likeminds to throw their weights behind the aspiration.

Ikorodu Division APC Chairman, Hon Olasunkanmi Tijani, his counterparts from Ikorodu West and other APC leaders equally pledged allegiance to the OGA ambition.

The event was also attended by all councilors and supervisors from all the three local government and local council areas. They all demonstrated their allegiance by adorning the OGA branded campaign face cap.

A major highlight of the well-attended event was the inauguration of the OGA Campaign Team, led by Alh Lateef Affinih and ward foot soldiers across the three council areas in Ikorodu Constituency 1. The exercise was performed by all the three local government chairmen in attendance.
