History is set to be made in Ikorodu on 1st May, 2023 as a biopic stage play on one of Ikorodu’s heroines, ‘Erelu-Ota’ is set to go live on stage at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall.
Heroism of ‘Erelú Ota’ retells the story of a legendary goddess in Ikorodu Kingdom, whose bravery and mysterious power contributed immensely to the victory of Ikorodu Kingdom against its enemy, Egba-Ijebu warriors during the Ogun Agbala war.
A play of bravery, resilience, mysticism, and womanhood, that aims at emphasizing the place of womanhood in the development of the society.
The Heroism of Erelú Ota revisits the untold story of a legendary amazon in Itunmaja, Ikorodu. Like other heroic female figures in Africa, the play x-rays the role of women in keeping the peace and security of their communities.
She is renowned for her mysterious power to know the enemy’s plots right from her abode in Itunmaja, Ikorodu.
This theatrical production recounts how she was instrumental to the victory of Ikorodu against its enemy.
