Few days to the much-anticipated gubernatorial election in Lagos State, the newly re-elected member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps, Hon Babajimi Benson has made an appeal to residents of Ikorodu Division for the delivery of a minimum 200,000 for Governor Sanwo-Olu and State Assembly Candidates in Saturday’s election.

Benson made the appeal yesterday while addressing residents of Agbele community behind Ikorodu Grammar School during the flag-off of the construction of the community’s 1.5 kilometer road.

‘We are starting this road in March, I want to assure you that it will be completed within three months, from now till June’, he pledged.

Hon Benson however complained about low turn out of voters in the community in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections in the community.

He therefore charged the community stakeholders to redeem their image in the forthcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections by mobilizing all residents to turn out en-masse to cast their votes for the ruling party on Saturday.

National Youth Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dayo Israel who also made a surprise appearance at the event praised Ikorodu residents for topping the Lagos State voting chart in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He however charged residents to improve on their performance in the forthcoming governorship election so as to attract more infrastructural development and political appointments to Ikorodu.

Israel also used the occasion to remind Ikorodu Youths of many political appointments and economy prospects like the LAG-Ride they stand to benefit from, if Governor Sanwo-Olu is re-elected.

‘Ikorodu stands to gain more than what it has benefited from Governor Sanwo-Olu if he is re-elected back into office. One cannot describe the development coming our way if we have our leaders at the federal, state and local government. This is why we’re expecting nothing less than 200,000 votes this Saturday at the gubernatorial elections’

Ikorodu Division Apex APC Leader, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye and other party Chieftains at the ceremony were unanimous in commending Hon Jimi Benson’s excellent performance.

They also appealed to residents, especially the aggrieved youths to sheath their sword and support the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the two House of Assembly candidates, promising that their grievances would be addressed.
