GOV AMBODE SET TO COMPENSATE VICTIMS OF SABO MARKET DEMOLITION

After series of public outcry and condemnation that followed the illegal demolition and wanton destruction of goods and properties worth billions of naira at the Ayangburen market, Sabo-Ikorodu by some yet-to-be identified men, with alleged support of some unknown soldiers; respite may have finally come the way of the once hopeless and dejected victims.

Feelers from a very reliable source from Alausa, the seat of Lagos state government power informed Ikorodu Oga Radio that, Governor Ambode at a meeting with the affected traders has promised to rebuild the demolished market for the affected traders at no cost, on compassionate grounds. According to our source who is very close to the meeting, the governor also promised adequate compensation to all the affected traders.

Our source, who pleaded anonymity was however silent on the fate of three traders who died as a result of shock from the news of the illegal demolition of their shops and means of livelihood.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the Sole Administrator of Ikorodu local government, Mr Gbolahan Ogunleye to comment on the development proved abortive, as he did not respond to calls and text message sent to his phone seeking for details on the development.

In the meantime, we hope that government lives up to its promise, by bringing permanent succor to the affected traders and the perpetrators made to face the full wrath of the law for their ungodly action.
