GENERAL HOSPITAL IKORODU WINS BEST CHARTER HOSPITAL AWARD

General Hospital Ikorodu has been recognized as the best chartered Hospital at the Lagos State Service Charter Awards organized by the office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI).

The Medical Director/CEO, Dr. Taiwo Hassan and Service Delivery Director, Pharm Catherine Martins received the awards midweek at Ikeja, during the service charter week in the state. General Hospital Ikorodu won a total of two out of three major service charter awards with the third awarded to Service Improvement Officer of the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Joan Oluyemi

The Director-General, OTCI, Mr. Toba Otusanya, in his presentation stated that the award is an evaluation of the performance of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to proffer innovative ways service providers can offer efficient services to Lagos residents. The 5 indicators used with ascribed evaluation targets include; service delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude.

The Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri -Okunola also urged the awardees to see the ceremony as a call to duty, and also reminded them that the reward for hardwork is more work.

Service charter was launched 9 years ago to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery. The objective of Service Charter Initiative is to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively in the State’s Public Service.

Earlier in the year, General Hospital Ikorodu also emerged the most outstanding public health facility in blood donation by the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service.
