The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has disclosed that his administration has been on an aggressive road construction projects across the inner communities of the council areas as a way of boosting economic development of the inner communities.
Adeshina made this disclosure on Wednesday at the formal flag-off of the 270 meters Sanni Arowolo Street road project at Itunpate in Ikorodu.
‘This road is a landmark project of our administration, aimed at bringing the dividends of democracy to our people. When inner roads are motorable, it enhances the economic growth of residents of the area’, he stated.
‘We have laid a solid foundation for the development of Ikorodu Local Government and we are not going to relent on our efforts to continue in the development of this council area’, he added.
Adeshina also noted that, ‘If we share palliatives, it may not go round. But, everybody will pass this road when it is completed’.
Speaking further, he noted that, ‘this is not the first time we are working on Arowolo Street. We did the drainage about two years ago and it is still very very solid’.
He also promised that the Council would soon be moving to Eleshin road in Agura Area as well as the imminent commissioning of a Primary Health Center in Agura, in line with the commitment of his administration to infrastructural development.
Adeshina concluded by appealing to residents of Sanni Arowolo and Ikorodu Local Government as a whole to ensure prompt and regular payments of their rates in order to assist the Council to sustain its current developmental strides.
The Council Engineer, Engr Oladapo Oluwaseyi in his insightful presentation explained that the drainage was a concrete grade of concrete 15 with one meter by one meter covered slab.
He explained that while the first phase of the road project, which was the drainage system has been delivered, the flag-off of the road represented the second phase of the project, demonstrating the commitment of the Wasiu Adeshina administration towards completing all on-going infrastructural projects across the Council area.
Party leaders who graced the event were unanimous in praising Adeshina for putting similes on the faces of residents.
Similarly, excited residents of Sanni Arowolo who could not hide their joy hailed the Council boss for remembering their area in his infrastructural projects.
The event climaxed with the official flag-off of the road construction project performed by a former Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa.
