Residents of Ikorodu Division and its environs are set to experience a unique Easter celebration on Monday, as The Elevation Church, Ikorodu is set to rekindle the love for local cuisines.
The upwardly mobile and hybrid Church has set aside the forthcoming Easter Monday to give the entire family a memorable Easter experience through an event tagged, Taste of Our Tribes, ‘TOOT’.
TOOT, it was gathered is organized under the Jewels Ministry, the women wing of the Church as an annual family event. While the event has been held in Lekki and Maryland Expressions of the Church in the past, it is the first time the Ikorodu Expression of the Church will be hosting the event locally.
In a chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Global Coordinator of TOOT and wife of Resident Pastor, TEC Ikorodu Expression , Pastor Jadesola Shawana disclosed that, ‘it is a time where families come together and have fun. We have a display of varieties of Nigerian foods, that’s why we call it a Taste of our Tribes’.
Shawana stated that, ‘The idea behind the ‘Taste of Our Tribe’ is a time where families can come together and have fun. It usually holds in Easter Monday and it is open to TEC and Non-TEC Members. We have a varieties of foods from various tribes in Nigeria, Northern. The foods will be available for sale at small amount. That’s why it is called Taste of Our Tribe’.
‘It is holding in Ikorodu for the first time because, the Ikorodu Church is one of the newest expressions of The Elevation Church and last year when we had it together with The Elevation Church at Maryland, we got some feedbacks by many of our members to bring it down home here in Ikorodu’, she added.
She explained that tickets were available online for interested families and individuals to participate in the event and also at The Elevation Church, Ikorodu.
She also disclosed that, families should look up to a fun-filled experience.
‘There would be lots of games and fun activities at the event namely, Table Tennis, Board Games, Snooker, Giant Snake and Ladder, Chess PS4, PS5 as well as free Popcorn, Face Painting, Bouncing Castles, Ball Ponds, and lots of games for teenagers as well’.
The event will hold at The Elevation Church, Ikorodu located at the highbrow Aquilla Event Centre, along T.O.S Benson Road, Ikorodu.
Tickets for the event are categorized into two- adults N1,500.00 and Children N1,000.00.
Organizers of the event also disclosed that it was open to corporate support, sponsorship of the event.

According to Pastor Shawana, there would also be competition among participating families and individuals with handsome cash prizes and other gift items to be won.
Shawana also gave insight into what participants
