EASTER: OVER 300 FAMILIES BENEFIT FROM HON JIMI BENSON’S I-CARE FOOD BANK MONTHLY BENEVOLENCE

As the annual Easter festive season approaches, over 300 indigent members of the Ikorodu federal constituency have benefitted from the benevolence of federal lawmaker, representing Ikorodu division at the House of Reps, Hon Jimi Benson’s monthly I-Care Food Bank largesse.

The March 2018 ration of the food distribution which was the 18th edition of the monthly humanitarian gesture of the kind hearted lawmaker came a week earlier than usual, so as to provide opportunity for the less privileged in the society to have a fun-filled Easter celebration.

As his usual practice, Hon Benson used the opportunity to appreciate his constituents for their immense support in the last 3 years. He also prayed that God would transform the economic status of the beneficiaries so they can also be sources of blessing to others in need around them.

The Director-General, I-Care Movement, Mayor Deen Sanwoola in his brief remarks at the event urged beneficiaries to ensure they register and get their permanent voters’ card ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Meanwhile, a group of Ikorodu youths, under the aegis of Ikorodu Heroes, a.k.a I-Heroes also supported the I-Care food bank initiative of Hon Jimi Benson by distributing some raw food items to the beneficiaries.

Speaking with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Wale Olusanya, the general secretary of the body disclosed that I-Heroes decided to identify and give their own little support to the I-Care Food Bank initiative of Hon Jimi Benson because, the initiative was in tandem with its vision of developing Ikorodu division through selfless developmental initiatives.

The I-Care Food Bank which was launched on October 2016 is one of the numerous initiatives of Hon Babajimi Benson. Some of his other humanitarian initiatives include, Start Up Ikorodu, Ikorodu Job Portal and a yet-to-be- launched, Atajere micro-credit scheme, among many others.
