A serious leadership crisis has rocked the Association of Butchers, Ikorodu Chapter over the choice of successor for the former leader who died recently.
According to different sources who spoke with Ikorodu Oga Radio, the cause of the crisis is the alleged imposition of a new Chairman for the Ikorodu slaughter slab.
Our sources alleged that the butcher association had appointed a new leader for the association only for some people to influence the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi to appoint a young man and an Ikorodu indigene as leader of the group, against popular wishes.
When our reporter visited the slaughter slab this morning, business activities was completely paralysed while the facility was under lock and key with some aggrived youths barricading the entrance of the facility with stones and burnfire.
As a result, many customers were locked out of the facility, with some hanging around as the youths hold sway.
