News reaching the news room of Ikorodu Oga Radio has revealed that, Aliyah, the young girl that was attacked by her landlord’s dog in Erunwen area of Ikorodu community has passed on at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH Ikeja.
Efforts of medical officers at the Emergency Ward of Ikorodu General Hospital battled to save the life of Aliyah Masaku; a five-year old girl who was reportedly attacked on Tuesday, 21st February, 2017, by three wild Alsatian dogs which allegedly belong to their Landlord has proved abortive.
The girl, who was left batlling for her life after the attack, was said to have suffered damage to one of her eyes and also lost a tooth, beside other injuries inflicted on her in the attack which they say lasted for about two hours. A medical officer at the general hospital, according to report said Aliyah might need a plastic surgery to regain the proper use of the effected eye.
The child was also said to have suffered multiple lacerations in her face, legs, arms and other parts of the body. It was further gathered that Aliyah’s father; one Mr Wasiu who is a vulcaniser, was left in charge of feeding the dogs after their owner travelled out of the country.
As a result of what had happened, hell broke loose at about 11pm, when hoodlums into the house where the incident had occured, vandalising some properties on the premises and killed one the dogs, saying the dogs cannot live within the same neighbourhood with them.
According to Punch online, a delegation of the Lagos State Office of the Public Defence, which visited the house and the hospital, said the State Government would remove the dogs from the house to avoid a reoccurrence.
