ADESHINA FLAGS OFF 1,642 METER 2-SIDE DRAINAGE AT ITUNDEGUN-ITUNMAJA, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO THE AESTHETICS FACELIFT OF IKORODU INNER COMMUNITIES

The inner communities in Ikorodu Local Government will now be the focus of Ikorodu Local Government Infrastructural development drive.

This revelation was made by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina yesterday, on the sidelines of the formal flag-off of the 1,642 meters two-sided drainage system along Ita-Elewa, Ejina and Itunmaja communities in Ward C and D of the council area.

The Council Chairman said, ‘We have decided to give our inner communities a facelift with modern drainage systems, street lights and road surfacing’.

‘The drainage we want to do will be a covered one, so everyone using the water coming from the gutters should find a way to stop it. Let us develop our inner communities together. Development must definitely come to the interiors of Ikorodu’, he stated.

‘Adeshina added that, ‘Anyone who knows how Solomade street used to be should go there and see how good the street looks now. Work is going on and is almost completed there’.

Speaking further, he said, ‘we have also begun the drainage along Cemetery road at Sabo and we are almost done with it. We have also spoken to those who are fond of disposing faeces there. Asides this in Sani Arowolo work is about beginning there’.

Adeshina also promised to instruct the Council Engineer to go to Otayombo street, adjacent Sanni Arowolo Street promising to complete both projects simultaneously.

He noted that the Council has also identified the Eleshin road among many other roads and developmental projects.

The Council boss also announced that his administration would soon be embarking on the distribution of the Annual Free GCE exercise to support indigent students in the council area.

The Iyalode of Ikorodu, Chief Mrs Shokunbi, Ikorodu Central APC Chairman, Alh Animashaun and Iyaloja of Ikorodu Central, Mrs Bukola Osho and other dignitaries at the event commended Adeshina for embarking on the project.

Similarly, residents of the communities expressed appreciation to the Council Chairman for extending his administration’s Infrastructural drive to their Wards.
