iCARE FOOD BANK: BENENFICIARIES PLEDGE LOYALTY TO REP BENSON IN 2027 AND BEYOND, AS 500 VULNERABLE RESIDENTS RECEIVE FOOD SUPPORT

Some beneficiaries of the February edition of the monthly iCare Food Bank, sponsored by Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman, House Committee on Defense, have pledged their continued loyalty to the federal lawmaker both in 2027 and beyond.

The beneficiaries who spoke to Ikorodu Oga Radio on the sideline of the February 2026 distribution exercise praised the member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, for his benevolence and caring heart.

One of the beneficiaries, Elder Ayodele Oguntola from “A Friendly Support Group,” Ikorodu, who frequently benefits from the program, noted that Hon. Benson’s generosity has remained unmatched by other politicians in Ikorodu and beyond.

He recalled supporting Hon. Benson since 2019 and affirmed his community’s loyalty, stating that they would stand by him in future elections, including 2027.

Miss Blessing from Adamo, in Ikorodu North LCDA, who is a first-time recipient, described the gesture as “very nice” and urged Benson to keep up the good work, adding that God would bless him.

For many, the food packs were more than just items—they were a source of hope. Mr. Micheal Ego, a first-time beneficiary and person with disability from Asolo, in Ikorodu West LCDA expressed deep gratitude and prayed for Hon. Benson’s continued success.

Mrs. Adijat Quadri, another beneficiary, prayed for his continued blessings and progress.

Ikorodu North Council Leader, Hon. Abosede Benson also praised his consistent efforts, describing him as a pillar of support for widows and the less privileged.

Hon. Babajimi Benson, member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, through the monthly exercise has continued his long-standing tradition of giving back to his community by distributing 500 food packs to residents of Ikorodu Division.

The outreach, carried out through his iCare Foundation—established in 2016—has become a lifeline for many vulnerable households.

February 2026 distribution began with a structured registration process, capturing beneficiaries from different local governments and wards into a system and assigning them numbers.

Earlier, Director-General of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola in a chat pledged the commitment of Benson to the overall well-being of his constituents, hence his all-inclusive welfarism and development-focused approach to political representation since he assumed office in 2015.

This ensured orderly and transparent distribution, with beneficiaries ranging from senior citizens and persons with disabilities to unemployed youth and widows.

Since 2016, Hon. Benson’s iCare Foundation has consistently touched thousands of lives through monthly and festive food distributions, popularly known as ‘Apo Anu’. With at least 500 beneficiaries each month, the initiative has become a symbol of compassion and reliability in Ikorodu Division.
