Honourable Babajimi Benson, Member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has confessed that, women are the secret behind his political success and accomplishments.
He stated this at the Women Appreciation Day, held on February 25, 2017, in Ikorodu, Lagos. Commending the womenfolk, Hon Benson praised them for ‘their resilience and unflinching dedication to both our political party, All Progressives Congress and communal development have continue to put Ikorodu Division on the pedestal of greatness and for influencing the social change Lagos State is witnessing because of your actions before, during and after 2015 elections, which birthed our phenomenon Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who has made it a priority to run a government of inclusion.
The Women Appreciation Day is a day set aside by my Hon Jimi Benson’s iCare Foundation to honour Ikorodu women who were steadfast and exemplary in ensuring the continuous progress of the womenfolks across different strata of life.
Similarly, he commended the wife of Lagos state governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode for her efforts towards empowering Lagos state women, through the Hope For Women In Nigeria Initiatives (HOFOWEN), the pet project of Her Excellency, that has been concerned about equipping women for excellence. The organization recently distributed writing materials, school bags, shoes and socks to pupils in public schools in Lagos state. Prior to this, HOFOWEN mobilized to eliminate Female Genital Mutilation and empowered widows.
Commending the Ikorodu APC Women, he said ‘Personally, I believe without Ikorodu Division Women, there won’t have been Babajimi Benson, I thank you greatly for the trust reposed in me, confidence in iCare Foundation and believe in our party, APC.
