The Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu West LCDA and Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa has mourned the passage of Late Prince Tajudeen Odofin.
Odofin, a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.
In an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Oba Sotonwa described the late Odofin as a very close friend and confidant.
‘We’ve been friends for over five decades. Infact, our families are closely knitted and he is one of the few people I can call my friend’, the monarch disclosed.
Sekumade disclosed that he did not realize that his phone conversation with the deceased last Friday was going to be their last conversation together.
He added that the deceased was full of life during the phone discussion and had assured him that he would be discharged and would be back to his Ipakodo country home by Monday (yesterday).
The monarch however noted that though Odofin’s death came as a rude shock, he took solace in the fact that the late former Commissioner lived well.
