REP BENSON GIFTS LASUSTECH UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY, LAMBO-LASUNWON 1.6 KM ROAD TO MARK HIS 52ND BIRTHDAY

The Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defence, Rep Babajimi Benson who turned 52 today, 30th March decided to mark his birthday in a unique way.

The Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps in his usual characteristic manner decided to demonstrate his caring and humane disposition with the flag-off of a 1.6 Kilometer road project he facilitated for Lambo- Lasunwon Community in Ikorodu North LCDA.

The road which has been in deplorable state and has become an eyesore for over 20 years will soon wear a new look courtesy of the compassionate federal lawmaker.

Addressing stakeholders at the flag-off ceremony, Director-General of I-Care Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola noted that, the road was strategic to Ikorodu North LCDA and the entire Ikorodu Division in general.

He stated that, ‘Ikorodu North LCDA is the largest voting community in the entire Ikorodu Division, while Ward E3, where this road is located is the ward with the largest registered voters, hence the need to reciprocate their good gestures during elections, in order to encourage them to do more in subsequent elections.

‘We needed this road flag-off to be impactful, that is the reason why Hon Benson has decided to flag off this road on his birthday because of the importance he attached to this road’.

‘This particular ward is a special ward in the entire Ikorodu North where we get massive voters’ turnout, hence the need to encourage residents of this ward’, he added.

Continuing, he said, ‘Ikorodu has the highest winning votes for Asiwaju during the 2023 General elections all over Nigeria. What do you think would happen if we can get these road done and get more people out to come out and vote, it means we will even get higher voters’ turnout’, he said.

Sanwo-Ola concluded by appealing to residents of the community to give the contractor maximum support during the construction of the road.

The Eweye of Isiu, Oba David Raji Balogun showered praises and prayers on Rep Benson, while appealing to him to assist other communities in the Council area in building their roads as well.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adeola Banjo expressed appreciations on behalf of the good people of the council areas, while assuring that they will continue to deliver the area for the ruling party.

Other APC Chieftains who graced the ceremony were all unanimous in commending Benson for bringing succour to residents of the area and for saving them years of embarrassment and ridicule.

Joint CDC Chairman of Lambo-Lasunwon and Genge CDA, Com Sunday Olusanya on behalf of all the 12 Joint CDAs thanked Rep Benson for facilitating the road project, while assuring him of their maximum support.

Similarly, Councilor, Ward E3, Prince Niran Adeyemi while expressing his appreciation on the road project appealed to residents of the community to cooperate with the contractors for a smooth and successful job.

It is instructive to note that the Lambo-Lasunwon road is the second road project Rep Benson is flagging off in Ikorodu North LCDA within the last one month, the first being the Laketu-Lucky Fibre-Odongunyan link road.

A major highpoint of the flag-off ceremony was the cutting of Rep Babajimi Benson’s 52nd Birthday cake by dignitaries in attendance.

The event climaxed with the formal flag-off of the road construction by the Eweye of Isiu, His Royal Majesty, Oba David Raji Balogun who was ably assisted by a former Senator, Adeseye Ogunlewe.
