Professor Saheed Ajibola
Director, NOUN Ikorodu Model Study Centre

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Ikorodu Model Study Centre has berthed in January.

With the birth of the NOUN Model Study Centre, Ikorodu Division now plays host to three tertiary institutions of learning namely, the newly transmuted Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Privately owned Caleb University in Imota and now, NOUN, a federal government owned university.

With this development, millions of Ikorodu residents, recently designated as the third largest city in the South-West and 12th Largest city in Nigeria now have access to multiple quality tertiary education choices.

The recent announcement of the opening of NOUN Ikorodu Model Study Centre on the official Facebook page of Ikorodu Oga Radio @IkoroduOgaRadio last week has been greeted with excitements and positive reactions by many residents of Ikorodu and adjoining communities who described the news as heart warming.

In readiness for the commencement of operational and academic activities, the federal government owned institution has opened an administrative office at Jumofak Bus Stop, on the highbrow Lagos Road, Ikorodu.

Prospective students have started trooping to the new office to process their admission since the office opened for operations about two weeks ago.

In a chat with a very reliable source, the institution would be hosting a series of event in the coming weeks to signal the formal opening of NOUN in Ikorodu.

We were also reliably informed that construction works would soon start on the permanent site of the National Open University of Nigeria Ikorodu Model Study Centre located along Ijede Road, near Itamaga, Ikorodu.

The new NOUN Ikorodu Administrative Office located at the foot of the pedestrian bridge at Jumofak Bus Stop opens from Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 9am -5pm daily.

Professor Saheed Ajibola, a Professor of Mathematics has been appointed the Pioneer Director of the newly opened NOUN Ikorodu Model Study Centre.

Prior to his latest appointment, Professor Ajibola was the immediate past Dean of Faculty of Science of National Open University of Nigeria.
